NHS Bury Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) next routine Primary Care Commissioning Committee and Governing Body meetings are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 25th July. Members of the public are invited to come along to observe. Both meetings will be held at Townside Primary Care Centre, Knowsley Place in Bury (5th floor).
The Primary Care Commissioning Committee oversees the work of the CCG in relation to the commissioning of Primary Care services, such as GP services. Regular items on the agenda include quality along with primary care health and wellbeing project updates. The committee will meet from 12 noon.
The Governing Body meeting is scheduled to take place at the earlier time of 2 pm. This meeting is where discussions and decisions happen in relation to the planning and funding of local health services. Regular items on the agenda will include finance, quality and performance. Additional items on the agenda for the meeting will include a patient story and an update on the transformation of local health and care service in Bury.
Public questions relating to agenda items being discussed at the Governing Body and Primary Care Commissioning Committee meetings are welcome. These should be submitted in advance to allow sufficient time for the question to be picked up and processed in advance of the meetings.
Question forms are available on the CCG’s website (www.buryccg.nhs.uk) under ‘Your local NHS’, and paper copies can be obtained by contacting the CCG by telephone on 0161 762 1646 or by email at email@example.com
Also on the same day is the CCG’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will commence at 6.15 pm in the Peel Room of the Elizabethan Suite, Bury Town Hall, Knowsley Street, Bury, BL9 0SW (light refreshments will be available). The AGM will give the CCG the opportunity to talk about its achievements and challenges during the previous year of operation (2017/18). This will include service developments and improvements which got underway, efforts to work more efficiently, financial facts and figures and future plans and priorities for health and health and care services in Bury.
Dr. Jeff Schryer, Chair of NHS Bury CCG said: “Our Governing Body and Primary Care meetings are held in public and provide a great opportunity for local people to come along and find out more about what we do and to get closer to the decision making process about the services we plan and purchase on their behalf.
The AGM is our opportunity to highlight activities and progress made during the last year, as well as talking about our plans for the future. We feel we have made some good progress during the last year, but there is obviously more to do and there are lots of developments planned moving forward linked to the transformation of health and social care services in Bury.
We regularly welcome members of the public to our meetings and I would encourage anyone who would like to find out more about what we do and how we make decisions to come along and learn more about our work and to get involved.”
The agenda and papers for the meetings will be available on the ‘Your local NHS’ section of the CCG website in advance of the meetings.
